Before and After

What dancers tell us about the difference

The Challenge

"I'd been thinking about dancing for ages but kept putting it off. Felt like everyone else would be younger and more experienced. Didn't know where to start or if I'd actually be any good at it."

David, 52

The Reality

"Started going last summer and honestly it's become my favorite part of the week. The group is brilliant — mix of ages, everyone's there for the same reason. I've learned so much and feel stronger and more confident. Already signed up for the summer beach socials."

David, 52

Common Questions

Everything you need to know to get started

Do I need experience to join?

Not at all. We've got dancers at every level, from people who've never danced before to those who've been doing this for years. Beginners are absolutely welcome and there's always someone happy to help you get started.

What if I don't have a dance partner?

Most socials have a rotating partner system or plenty of solo dancers. You'll meet people quickly and friendships form naturally. Many regulars come alone and it's totally normal.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you can move in. Most people wear smart casual — trousers or skirts with a nice top. Dance shoes help but aren't required at the beginning. The beach socials have their own vibe — check our guide for specific details.

How often can I attend?

It's completely up to you. Some people come every weekend, others come once a month. There's no commitment — just show up when you can and enjoy it. We've got events in Dublin, Dún Laoghaire, and Cork so you can pick what suits your location.

Is it expensive?

We keep costs low because this is about community, not profit. Entry is affordable and there's no hidden fees. Check our guides for specific details about each location.

How do I find the nearest gathering?

We've created detailed guides for Dublin, Dún Laoghaire, and Cork with exact venue locations, times, and what to expect. Start with the guide for your region or get in touch and we'll point you in the right direction.
